What Bill Cosby Actually Said in Response to Troiani’s Loaded Question

Please note that the premise of many of the stories fulling the mass media on Dr. Cosby on July 6,7,8, 2015 is false. Dr. Cosby never admitted or said that he obtained quaaludes to give to young women before sex. The AP did not release the full transcript of what Dr. Cosby said. They purposefully left out the later part of Dr. Cosby’s answer to Lawyer Troiani’s loaded question.

Troiani’s loaded question is similar to the loaded question, “Did you stop beating your wife?” If you answer “Yes,” you are accusing yourself of beating your wife, and if you answer “No,” you are still accusing yourself of beating your wife.

Troiani’s loaded question was “When you got the Qualudes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?” If you answer, Yes, then, you accuse yourself of knowingly giving quaaludes to women that you wanted to have sex with, but if you answer, “No,” then you accuse yourself of not knowing that you gave quaaludes to women that you wanted to have sex with. In other words, the question is made up of two questions, both of which assume quilt. It is really asking “Did you know that you committed the crime or did you not know that you committed the crime.” It is not asking if you committed the crime but only if you did it consciously or unconsciously. With either a “yes” answer or a “no” answer, you accuse yourself of the crime.

Here is what Bill Cosby’s answer was according to the Associated Press: “Yes.” Here is what the answer was according to Troiani’s “Motion for Sanctions” in the case: “Yes… I misunderstood. Woman meaning T………, and not women.”

The next time Troiani speaks to Cosby, we have this: Q. Sir, I want to explain to you. I’m asking you a question. You have every right in the world to say, no, you’re misunderstanding me.
A. I just did.

Cosby’s actual statement is available here:http://www.scribd.com/doc/270728409/Cosby-Depo    Case 2:05-cv-01099-ER Document 48 Filed 11/21/05 Page 12 of 66

Cosby says twice that he misunderstood the question and that is why he answered, “Yes.”

According to the book “No Speed Limit, the Highs and Lows of Meth” by Frank Owen (2013, pg. 110) in the early 1970’s, roughly “four million Quaalude Prescriptions were written each year.”

Please, think calmly and rationally about what is happening here. This is the greatest witchhunt in American History ever against one man. The Witch-hunters have great control over the mass media and have forced Dr. Cosby into silence by bringing lawsuits whenever he speaks in his own defense. The Associated Press has now done something as shameful as anything the National Enquire has ever done – only printing the first part of an answer and leaving out the rest which qualifies and explains the answer.
